KURUTHI AATAM REVIEW

KURUTHI AATAM REVIEW

Kuruthi Aattam is a movie directed by Sri Ganesh of 8 thottakal fame starring Atharva Murali , Priya Bhavani Shankar , Radhika Sarathkumar , Raadha Ravi etc

The movie deals with the violence happening in and around madurai and how it affects the life of Atharva and how it changes the sequence of events .

Atharva is as usual is convincing as the action hero the film needs with the apt physique and enough determination it takes only few more steps for him to reach the position he needs may be deserves

Priya Bhavani Shankar kind of gets a meaty role at least in terms of screen presence and she does full justice to the role and i think she is becoming the homely kind of heroine that tamil cinema needs .

Congratulations priya

Apart from that it is the supporting cast that scores in kuruthi aataam

The villain role played by vatsan chakaravarthy is menacing and he has given four years of work for his physical transition which is well evident on screen and he does fits the bill .

The characters of Kanna and Prakash raghavan is equally well written

And vinod sagar of ratsasan inbaraj fame gets a well spaced role and he excels .

Technically speaking the film is pretty descent taking musical score by yuvan , editing By Anil Krish , cinematography by dinesh all into consideration.

On the downside the film is very long and tests your patience especially in the very end there is lot of detailing went into the writing that is well evident in many scenes but all are not well transferred into the screen

There are many ideas which impresses you and reminds you that it is the same director who made a classic debut with 8 thottakal

Especially the high tension interval block

But many ideas aren’t

On the whole kuruthi aatam is a descent action entertainer that does not hold your attention till the end but impresses you at many places

With more care it could have been a much better product

Nevertheless a descent second film from the 8 thottakal director

SITA RAMAM REVIEW

Sita ramam is a film directed by hanu raghavapadi with dulquar and Mrunal thakur in lead roles along with rashmikka mandanna in a crucial role with music by vishal chandrasekhar

The film deals with the core emotion of love as its base with taking kashmir issue as the backdrop with so many twists and turns is a beautifully told love tale .

Dulquar is very comfortable as Ram with his unique charm and so is mrunal who is at her best the lead chemistry is enchanting and takes us through a beautiful journey by hanu .

The film has its biggest strength lying in its narration with so much twists and turns keeping the audience engaged and director makes sure that we root for this characters .

The kashmir issue the way it has been incorporated into this love while spreading the message of religious harmony is the director special touch.

Music by vishal deserves special recognition and it elevates the film to a another new level so does cinematography by PS Vinod and Shreyas Krishna who have did a commendable job

The editing by kotagiri is neat and tacky

On the downside the film is pretty lengthy

Dont miss this gem in theatres

Highly recommended

LEGEND REVIEW

Legend is the movie directed by JD and Jerry famous ad film directors and starring Arul Saravanan the propereitor of Legend Saravana stores along with Urvashi Rautela , Geethika Tiwary , Yashika Anand and many others

The story revolves around the discovery of cure to Diabetes by Saravanan and the challenges he face

First of all welcome Saravanan to the world of kollywood . At the age of 50s the dedication and passion towards cinema is really admirable .

But the problem is poor planning and lack of proper script as the base as even debutants picking up solid script now a days this is a age old revenge drama in a new wine bottle

The positives of the film are the rich scale in which the film has been made with rich production values , rich sets and a stellar cast and crew especially in the supporting roles .

But all quality ingredients does not make a good and tasty food same is happened here the actors , rich production values could not save the drowning ship

Apart from saravanan Urvashi gets a meaty role and does justice to her debut ( touted to received more salary than nayanthara ) , vivekh has done a neat job in his last film … missing you vivekh sir

Yogi babu , Robo Shankar everyone has did what it is expected of them

On the whole legend is a old wine in a glossy new bottle you will enjoy the wine if you weight the appearance more than taste .

DEJAVU REVIEW

DEJAVUREVIEW

Dejavu is a film directed by Debutant Aravind Srinivasan combining with Arulnithi
This is Arulnithi’s consecutive release after D block which was released few weeks back

The main plot of the film is Arulnithi is a police official who comes to investigate disappearance of the daughter of DGP ( played by madhubala ) and what unravel after the enquiry forms the remaining crux of the movie .

Arulnithi has given a neat performance as a stern and sincere police official and carries the film to the winning post .

The screenplay by Aravind is really intresting and the script ensures that you are engaged in the film till the end and surely its a success for Aravind on that side .

Apart from Arulnithi , Madhubala gets a meaty role and performs with ease

Cinematography by PG Muthiah is fine and gives the mood the film needs .

Ghibran has done a good job his re-recording elevates the film’s overall experience

On the downside the film has many lags in the second half especially in the last 15 mins stretch

Nevertheless Dejavu succeeds as a popcorn thriller which is worth your bucks

GULU GULU REVIEW

GULU GULU REVIEW

Gulu Gulu is a film directed by Ratnakumar who have previously directly directed Meyaadha Maan and Aadai which opened to critical acclaim and commercial success

Gulu Gulu stars Santhanam in a different role without his usual catchy one liners and gimmicks . Santhanam has performed with ease and is being consistently improving in performance film by film this film will be a very important role in his career and works to a large extent. kudos to Sandy

Apart from santhanam everyone gets a meaty role right from Athulya Chandra , Namita Krishnan , Pradeep Singh Ranwat , Sai Dheena and everyone scores in a scene and theatre response was pretty good .

Editing by Philomin Raj and cinematography by Vijay karthik kannan is colourful despite having very limited locations in the film . Music by Santhosh Narayanan is the second hero of the film and elevates the film to a new level .

But on the downside the film is pretty long and wont work for all sets of audiences . The film has lot of dark humour but the audience who come into the film with the expectations of going to a santhanam film will be disappointed because it doesnt works in that way but as a new attempt from a established star like santhanam should be encouraged and appreciated

On the whole Gulu Gulu is a new attempt from Santhanam and Rathna Kumar which works in some parts and does not work in some

But nevertheless a bold attempt

gulugulu #Santhanam #Rathnakumar #SanthoshNarayanan

KARGI REVIEW

GARGI REVIEW

Gargi is a film directed by Gautham Ramachandran starring Sai Pallavi in lead role along with Kaali Venkat , RS Shivaji , Kavithalaya Krishnan , Saravanan , Livingston

The film deals with the theme of child abuse and how it affects the life of Sai Pallavi / Gargi is the crux of the story

Sai Pallavi has given one of her career best performances as Gargi especially she brings the warmth and freshness to the strongly written character and sai Pallavi has done a excellent job as Gargi .

Kaali Venkat as the lawyer is so good and proves why he is one of the best character artists we have today

The screenplay and direction by gautham surely deserves appreciation for taking such strong theme and packing into a very interesting screenplay translated into a good film

Performances from all the actors lift the film into even more higher cards especially kavithalaya krishnan and Shivaji deserves special applause .

Music by Govind Vasantha is brilliant especially the background score is soothing and the needed silence is well thought one .

On the downside the film’s climax is too heavy to take and even questions the movie’s narrative but at the same it is also a positive as the climax was completely unexpected

Gargi – MUST WATCH

A still from gargi

IRAVIN NIZHAL REVIEW

Iravin nizhal is a film directed and performed by Radhakrishnan Parthiban himself is proved to be the world’s first single shot non linear film which has music by academy award winning AR Rahman

The film is a novel as well as a bold attempt from parthiban being the single shot film even if a single person makes a mistake in take the entire film as to be reshot which becomes a strong hindrance to the film making that normal film doesnt even imagine to have .

The biggest performer of the film is Radhakrishnan Parthiban who has done a brilliant job as nandhu , the character is a demanding role as the entire film revolves around the life of nandhu and various challenges he faced from childhood both physically and emotionally.

The second hero of the film is AR Rahman who has given a compelling work in the film his background score is enchanting and gives a beautiful soul to the film

The actors would have found to have a tough time doing such film because the perfection should be in the first shot itself and the actors have did a brilliant job

Editing , cinematography works as the heart of the film as it is technically very challenging film and they have done a immensely satisfying job

Personal appreciation to Arthur A Wilson and R Parthiban who have edited the film on paper

On the whole Iravin Nizhal is a experience that not everyone can experience as it needs a basic knowledge of how films are made to enjoy its technical expertise unlike other parthiban attempts

But if you are a movie lover and a cinema fan indulge in this experience that will stay with you for a long time even after leaving the cinema halls

IRAVIN NIZHAL shadow of amusement

Revisiting thulluvadho ilamai

Revisiting thulluvadho ilamai

Thulluvadho ilamai is the debut of dhanush k raja the prominent actor in all languages today and has a large fanbase among youth and family audience alike

Thulluvadho ilamai was directed by his father kasthuri raja and co directed by his brother selvaraghavan with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja

The biggest advantage of the film is its mood which is light and beautiful in most parts

Rocketry – Review

Rocketry is a film by madhavan Ranganathan starring and directed by himself solely based on the famous scientist Nambi Narayanan the former ISRO senior scientist and research head of VIKAS ENGINE who was unfortunately pushed into controversy of selling the secrets of ISRO to Russia later proved to be non guilty was given compensation of 1 crore by the government of Kerala and was awarded Padma Bushan in 2018

The film’s biggest plus is its novelty factor which works to the film’s biggest advantage especially the second half which works mostly for him effectively translates the struggles faced by Nambi Narayanan to screen and madhavan has given a life time performance as Nambi Narayanan especially as a actor the biggest accomplishment for him in his career might be this .

The film comprises of technicians around the nation especially music by Sam CS deserves special mention especially the rerecording in the second half was amazing , so was cinematography by Sirsha Ray , Editing by Bijith is adequate in most parts

Among the other actors Simran must be the most known face and she gives a commendable performance as the wife of Nambi Narayanan especially in the second half of the film

The biggest drawback of the film is its duration and first half of the film which deals with the adventures of Nambi Narayanan in Russia and France which is intresting but surely requires a sound scientific knowledge to understand the first half while everyone will relate to the struggles faced by Nambi Narayanan

On the whole Rocketry is a novel attempt which deserves a watching in the cinema halls

Kudos to Maddy and team

Yaanai Review

YAANAI REVIEW

Yaanai is a film by Director Hari starring Arun Vijay , Samuthrakani , Priya Bhavani Shankar , Bose Venkat , Radhika Sarathkumar , Aishwarya , Ammu Abirami etc
Produced by Drumstick productions .

Hari Considered to be one of the finest commercial directors in tamil cinema faced a backlash after his last release saamy square which was sequel to 2001 mega blockbuster Saamy starring Chiyaan Vikram .

Combing with his brother in law Arun Vijay after his supposed to be next project Aruvaa starring Suriya Sivakumar was dropped due to covid pandemic and the shooting of this venture started .

The movie revolves around the family conflict with a big fishery tycoon in the south while they are also facing many internal family conflicts .

The biggest strength of the film is Arun Vijay who is in his finest form as Ravi shoulders the film entirely though it has a ensemble cast especially in action blocks and emotional sequences he is amazing

The second biggest plus is Hari’s screenplay which has its own charm since tamizh whenever he goes to his strength base he wins let it be aaru , singam , velu or tamirabarani

The director has rectified his faults especially reducing the number of songs in second half and going for a montage is such one which helps in the moving pace of the film and keeps you engaged till the end of the cinema

The action blocks are electrifying especially the single shot one before interval was worth the hype special credits to hari for bringing it out with such perfection where he proves his directorial skills once again

Hari like shankar is a good packager even the underwhelming scenes goes unnoticed by his whip zip narrative which works in Yaanai too

Priya Bhavani Shankar has a performance shot in second half and she gives a notable performance while radhika gets a solid scene in the second half too which works with the audience

Samuthrakani and Bose Venkat as brothers does a neat job
Ammu Abirami gets a meaty role and does a satisfying job

Music by GV prakash is really and works in the pacing of the film

Negatives include the same old pattern in hari films is followed here too especially showing resemblance of poojai and tamirabharani

Overall poojai is a engaging commercial flick that works in most parts and serve as a good comeback for both Hari and Arun Vijay

RECOMMENDED
