KURUTHI AATAM REVIEW
Kuruthi Aattam is a movie directed by Sri Ganesh of 8 thottakal fame starring Atharva Murali , Priya Bhavani Shankar , Radhika Sarathkumar , Raadha Ravi etc
The movie deals with the violence happening in and around madurai and how it affects the life of Atharva and how it changes the sequence of events .
Atharva is as usual is convincing as the action hero the film needs with the apt physique and enough determination it takes only few more steps for him to reach the position he needs may be deserves
Priya Bhavani Shankar kind of gets a meaty role at least in terms of screen presence and she does full justice to the role and i think she is becoming the homely kind of heroine that tamil cinema needs .
Congratulations priya
Apart from that it is the supporting cast that scores in kuruthi aataam
The villain role played by vatsan chakaravarthy is menacing and he has given four years of work for his physical transition which is well evident on screen and he does fits the bill .
The characters of Kanna and Prakash raghavan is equally well written
And vinod sagar of ratsasan inbaraj fame gets a well spaced role and he excels .
Technically speaking the film is pretty descent taking musical score by yuvan , editing By Anil Krish , cinematography by dinesh all into consideration.
On the downside the film is very long and tests your patience especially in the very end there is lot of detailing went into the writing that is well evident in many scenes but all are not well transferred into the screen
There are many ideas which impresses you and reminds you that it is the same director who made a classic debut with 8 thottakal
Especially the high tension interval block
But many ideas aren’t
On the whole kuruthi aatam is a descent action entertainer that does not hold your attention till the end but impresses you at many places
With more care it could have been a much better product
Nevertheless a descent second film from the 8 thottakal director
