YAANAI REVIEW
Yaanai is a film by Director Hari starring Arun Vijay , Samuthrakani , Priya Bhavani Shankar , Bose Venkat , Radhika Sarathkumar , Aishwarya , Ammu Abirami etc
Produced by Drumstick productions .
Hari Considered to be one of the finest commercial directors in tamil cinema faced a backlash after his last release saamy square which was sequel to 2001 mega blockbuster Saamy starring Chiyaan Vikram .
Combing with his brother in law Arun Vijay after his supposed to be next project Aruvaa starring Suriya Sivakumar was dropped due to covid pandemic and the shooting of this venture started .
The movie revolves around the family conflict with a big fishery tycoon in the south while they are also facing many internal family conflicts .
The biggest strength of the film is Arun Vijay who is in his finest form as Ravi shoulders the film entirely though it has a ensemble cast especially in action blocks and emotional sequences he is amazing
The second biggest plus is Hari’s screenplay which has its own charm since tamizh whenever he goes to his strength base he wins let it be aaru , singam , velu or tamirabarani
The director has rectified his faults especially reducing the number of songs in second half and going for a montage is such one which helps in the moving pace of the film and keeps you engaged till the end of the cinema
The action blocks are electrifying especially the single shot one before interval was worth the hype special credits to hari for bringing it out with such perfection where he proves his directorial skills once again
Hari like shankar is a good packager even the underwhelming scenes goes unnoticed by his whip zip narrative which works in Yaanai too
Priya Bhavani Shankar has a performance shot in second half and she gives a notable performance while radhika gets a solid scene in the second half too which works with the audience
Samuthrakani and Bose Venkat as brothers does a neat job
Ammu Abirami gets a meaty role and does a satisfying job
Music by GV prakash is really and works in the pacing of the film
Negatives include the same old pattern in hari films is followed here too especially showing resemblance of poojai and tamirabharani
Overall poojai is a engaging commercial flick that works in most parts and serve as a good comeback for both Hari and Arun Vijay
